It is OK to delete Windows.old but in practice it is a bad idea. Much better to do this:
1. Rename Windows.old to Windows.obsolete.
2. Wait a week.
3. If all is well, delete Windows.obsolete.

Why? Because several people posted here in despair after losing information kept in Windows.old. Some were even unable to boot
